JOB PURPOSE:

This position is reponsible for end-to-end operations of the unit, which includes the Furnace, Continuous Casting Machine (CCM), and Rolling Mill sections. The role demands strategic leadership, production efficiency, quality control, cost optimization, compliance, and team development to achieve the plant’s production, safety, and profitability targets.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1.       Plan, direct, and coordinate daily operations across Furnace, CCM, and Rolling Mill sections.

2.       Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of men, machine, and materials.

3.       Ensure strict adherence to production schedules and dispatch deadlines.

4.       Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment.

5.       Maintain high quality standards as per customer specifications.

6.       Work closely with the QA/QC team to monitor and improve metallurgical and mechanical properties.

7.       Ensure statutory compliance with environmental, pollution, safety, and labor regulations.

8.       Lead a multidisciplinary team of production, maintenance, and support functions.

9.       Ensure skill development and training programs for workforce at all levels.

10.   Optimize scrap utilization, fuel consumption, billet yield, and rolling efficiencies.

11.   Maintain inventory control of raw materials, spares, and consumables in coordination with stores and purchase departments.

12.   Contribute to business strategy, capacity expansion, plant modernization, and new project implementations.

13.   Collaborate with finance, marketing, and top management for budgeting and forecasting.

14.   Any other task assigned by management from time to time.
