Key Responsibilities of Safety Officer/Engineer Environment, Health & Safety
1. Investigate workplace accidents to understand the root cause of the accident.
2. Implement control measures to prevent re occurrence of accidents.
3. Educate employees on best practices of using equipment and machinery.
4. Conduct safety trainings on different safety topics.
5. Make recommendations for improvement of safety standards and procedures.
6. Liasoning with local Govt Authorities for required licenses, authorizations and obtaining them, as and when required.
7. Execute environmental testing’s from External Labs to ensure that parameters are within range as per the local environmental laws.
8. Identify and amend potential hazards by performing inspections on Shop floor, machinery and safety systems.
9. Identifying and Analyzing Hazards, conducting Risk Assessments.
10. Communicate with Management in time for any kind of safety requirement.
Secondary tasks / other tasks
1. Select and ensure that the required PPE is available and worn by Workmen.
2 Oversee the installation of safety devices on machinery.
3. Stay updated on Government rules and regulations related to Safety and Environment.
4. Monitor workplace environment and facilities to ensure there are no dangerous situations.
5.Always look for improvements where ever possible to improve the safety culture of the organization.
Qualifications/ training/skills
ADIS (Advanced Diploma Industrial Safety) from Regional Labor Institute.
